There are two ways to deploy a Relay on a network:
- Create an installer package for a client with the Relay module checked
- Login to the GravityZone console at gravityzone.bitdefender.com
- Click Packages on the left side menu
- On the package screen, click the + Add button at the top
- One the new screen that pops up, enter the name of the package you are creating (eg. Relay Installer for Test Company) and choose the company that you want to use this installer for in the dropdown.
- Choose the Modules that you want to have installed on the system where the relay will be installed. Make sure that you check the box next to Relay otherwise the functionality will not be installed.
- Click Save at the bottom to create the package
- Now you just have to check the box next to this newly created package and click Download to get the installation file to run on the system. Make sure that you don’t use this to install on more than one system, you do not need more than one relay on most networks.
- Reconfigure an existing system to become a relay
- Login to the GravityZone console at gravityzone.bitdefender.com
- Click Network on the left side menu
- Navigate through the tree until you find the system that you want to become a relay
- On the right side, check the box next to the system you want to add the module to
- Click Tasks, then Reconfigure Client
- In the box that pops up, check all of the boxes next to the modules you want to keep on that system, adding the checkbox next to Relay as well
- Once you hit Save, the system will be sent a command to install the newly checked modules. You can check the status of this task by clicking Tasks in the left side menu.
Once a relay is installed, it will do a Network Discovery automatically. To force this:
- Login to the GravityZone console at gravityzone.bitdefender.com
- Click Network on the left side menu
- Navigate through the tree until you find the system that you want to become a relay
- On the right side, check the box next to the system you want to add the module to
- Click Tasks, then Network Discovery
- In the pop up window, click Yes to start to the network discovery
Systems that are on the same subnet as the relay will now show in the Network as Unmanaged Systems.
